Meeting with Clementine Touton

We recently met the sparkling Clémentine. Clémentine is the co-founder of Café Pimpin, an institution in the 17th and 18th arrondissements. Run there if you don't know yet! A classic and ultra gourmet menu, we recommend 100% and even more pregnant!!

She is pregnant with her second child and tells us about her life in Paris...

How are you coping with this new pregnancy? 

(I didn't think I would relive that, I already have a 10 year old daughter) but clearly it's not a dream. Already at 7 months I dream of giving birth tomorrow! 

Can you tell us about the history of Café Pimpin?

I lived in Australia, then I met my partner. We were looking for a concept that would allow us to do this job while being at home at 6 p.m. We copied a concept that adapted our passion to our family lives (8 a.m. to 6 p.m.) 

Not too difficult to reconcile catering, family life and second pregnancy?

My daughter's school is 50m from 1st Pimpin. She spent a lot of time there. After the works, when we opened she asked me why there were people "at our house" (she was talking about customers), during confinement  and that we cooked for the hospitals and that there was no school she came every day with me to cut vegetables. I intend to do the same with my 2nd and that it bathes in this atmosphere. 

What do you like the most in your job?

I love my partner, my employees, and my clients.  It's my 2nd house. It doesn't happen that I don't want to go to work. 

What are your projects for 2023? 

A new Pimpin in Ménilmontant! 

What are your little crushes as a pregnant woman? 

I'm crazy about candy! 

And also, isn't it too difficult to work in a restaurant without gobbling up your delicious carrot cake every day?

Not when you know the recipe (as much oil as sugar) 

Advice for a "cool" pregnancy?

Get pregnant in September to give birth in April and hibernate in winter to avoid frustration. 

Do you have any healthy beauty tips for a pregnant woman who has the same kind of job as you, namely standing all day long?

The cold shower & the sport !

What looks have you adopted to fully experience this pregnancy and stay sexy?

I opted for comfort so my front jeans and an elastic band to tie it. Or my boyfriend's leggings and t-shirt. 

What did you like about Paloma collection? 

It's simple yet chic at the same time. 

What is your favorite piece? 

The Thelma black dress or the Andrea black pants. 

The ideal menu for pregnant women at Café Pimpin?

An avocado toastie cheddar sup bacon!
